My cousin has been losing consciousness several times a week for the last 10months. They dont think its epilepsy, she has a massively high pulse rate and heart rate so they think it might be her heart. She is 20years old and her mum had several miscarriages. Could it be long qt or something else? |

It could be something else but it also could be long QT my niece would have a high pulse rate also and she passed many times also mostly in her sleep. She passed away in 2002 from long QT. And my sister was misdiagnosed 20 years ago for epilepsy it took the death of her daughter to find out that she didn't have it. That it was long QT. Your cousin needs to see a electrocardiologest right away. |

Debbie thanks for your message. Grandmother is now saying she has looked up the symptoms and it is all due to stress so we are not to worry - my cousins heart rate is not necessarily high all the time. I'm confused - am I still right to be worried? |

Many peoples faint (Approx. 10% of the population). Long QT syndrome is just one rare reason of many. However any person who faints should have an ECG taken to exclude serious disorders |
