How do we get genetic tests in the UK? Because I'm "Borderline" with a QT of 470, I'm not getting any treatment and they seem to think we're not bad enough to bother with. |

Hi Victoria, You have to check the QTc (QT corrected for the heart rate). A QTc interval of 417 or 420 is normal I believe. I think a QTc between 380 and 440 is considered in the normal range However, since you have been found to have LQTS, I would think you son should get a genetic test to make sure he does not have it since a plain ECG does not always reveal a long QT. Hope this helps. Take care and best wishes. |

I was finally told about a year and a half ago that I have LQTS. Since then my 3 year old has had an ECG. His QT interval was 417 and then 420. Does this mean he is in the clear? Will he need to be checked again when he's older? Does this mean that he won't be affected by drugs that affect me? I would be vry grateful to get an answer to this question. |
