I'm 41 years old w/ LQTS diagnosed atg age 31 after fainting episode while on tetracycline. I have a pacemaker. My 3 year old son is being monitored w/ yearly ekgs for lqts. His recent EKG showed qt of 445 up from 428 with maybe a suspicious look to the q wave. I will now have genetic testing done, and if one of the 2 genes known has been isoloated, by son and new baby (due 4/30) will also be tested. Do you think the increase in the qt in my son's ekg is suspicious? Also, I understand if he is eventually diagnosed, he will be prescribed betablockers and have to refrain from competitive sports. Does this include all sports or only certain types of activities? I am very active and have never limited my activities. |
