My baby was born on December 12th (see previous post) and we requested an EKG to be done. The pediatrician gave us a hard time but we stood our ground and eventually got one done. The pediatrician then called us and said everything looked great. However I work at the hospital and was able to obtain a copy of the EKG and it said as a diagnosis off the reading "Possibly Long Qt and Nonspecific T wave abnormality." The QTc was .423. Was the pediatrician wrong and should I contact a pediatric cardiologist. Thanks Patti |

A QTc of 423 msec is normal. Generally an automatic QT measurement by an EKG machine is nearly worthless and is has to be overread by a doctor. |
