She graduated in 1982 from the University of Milan, Italy Europe) and subsequently trained in the USA ( Washington University St Louis Missouri) in the field of cellular electrophysiology and then trained in Molecular Biology at the Telethon Institute for Genetics and Medicine in Italy. Prof. Priori is currently Director of Molecular Cardiology at the Maugeri Foundation and is Associate Professor of Cardiology at the University of Pavia.

Prof. Dr. Hugues Abriel studied biology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. He continued his education in Lausanne to become a MD. During his formation he was trained as an electrophysiologist and was working as a research scientist at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Abriel is currently working at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, thanks to a professorship of the Swiss National Science Foundation. He is also affiliated to Service of Cardiology of the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV).

Prof. Dr. Peter J. Schwartz is one of the pioneers in the research of long-QT syndrome. He graduated in medicine in 1967 from the university of Milan, Italy (Europe). He currently is professor and chairman of cardiology at the university of Pavia and Policlinico S. Matteo IRCCS, Pavia, Italy. Prof. Schwartz is actively involved in the design and conduct of major post myocardial infarction clinical trials and has authored more than 900 publications in the area of cardiology. His major fields of interest are the relationship between the autonomic nervous system and life-threatening arrhythmias, the long-QT syndrome, identification of patients at risk of sudden death, and the prevention of arrhythmic mortality.
